People serving in ministry who carry an orphan heart:
*Are defensive (because they have been self providers & protectors)
*View relationships as opportunities because they are afraid of lasting relationships
*View accountability as control and resist any form of leadership that requires real submission. They will submit in name only in order to have an opportunity but their is a continual seed of rebellion in their heart.
*Easily engage in a form of prophetic ministry that overemphasizes correction without a spirit of love. They enjoy controversy and the strife that it causes.
*They are typically drawn to voices of independence and others carrying an orphan heart.
*View ministry as opportunity not family or relationship.
*Will leave a place where enduring commitment is modeled and required.
*Drawn to teaching that justifies a lone ranger theology.
*Spend more time blasting than building.
*Identify problems above solutions.
Rom. 8:14-15-
15For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
16 The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
If we do not first embrace the revelation of God as Father then we will never be able to enter into successful fathering & sonship relationships with others.
